Brake Dust
I find it difficult to keep the front wheels of our D4 clear of brake dust, which accumulates
very quickly and thickly on the alloys.
Apart from elbow grease and suitable wheel cleaners, is there any solution other than fitting different brake pads at the relevant time ?
I remember many moons ago fitting discs inside the wheels of my old VW Scirocco (circa 1985) to catch the dust but not sure if the technologiy on those has moved with the times and could stand up to the heat etc generated by modern brake systems.
Still involves a bit of elbow grease but if you wax, polish and seal the alloys, the dust doesnt seem to stick as bad. Still there but easier cleaned.

A good form of alloy wheel sealent will be beneficial as you maybe able to to just Jetwash them clean, or thereabouts
Then I like to use Wolf chemicals Clean and Seal as it says on the bottle it cleans and leaves little nano chemicals behind that seals it to prevent brake dust build up
Can't prevent it, but you can make it cleaning easier, or remove the pads

Thanks guys.
I have applied sealants after washing - Planet Polish Wheel Seal and Shine last time - but there are still some stubborn spots that take some real scrubbing. I may need to apply several coats and/or wash more often....

Just out of interest,have you tried Iron-x ?.... Totally transformed my wheel cleaning regime,brilliant stuff and much better than anything else I've tried.

Agree Iron-X is superb, very easy to use and cleans the wheels brilliantly, did mine for the second time yesterday and then gave them a polish with some poorboys wheel sealant - they look brand new again

I do have some iron X but I've only used it for deep cleaning my old SLK's paintwork before polishing, sealing and waxing - never been near the Disco with it.
It sounds like it will be worth a try on the Disco wheels to try to shift the stubborn stuff.
