As per the last twenty plus years, I have just completed the task of checking then ripping to shreds every envelope, box and piece of wrapping paper before letting any of it leave the house.
This ancient tradition has replaced the previous one of frantically driving to the tip to try and locate the missing Nintendo battery pack / remote control / money etc..

Been out for a couple of dog walks and just under 5k run. Sad day in our family, a quiet day for reflection.

Just started a new tradition. Hunting every nook and cranny in the house and garage for a pressie meant for SWMBO. I hid it. Too well obviously. Not only have I forgotten where I put it, I forgot I had it. After opening the presents yesterday, an event that takes an extended period interspersed with drinks she says, "was there not something else?" She's like that. Tries to catch me out. Eventually she told me I had bought a bag of golf balls as a pressie. "Balls!" I said. That didn't help matters. I don't know where the are. Hidden and, at 2pm on Boxing Day, they are as yet not found. I'm in deep I apologised and asked her to remember the Christmas spirit. That made matters worse as she blames the Christmas spirit.....too much of it. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Been out with the spaniel beating this morning followed by a couple of pints in the pub. The afternoon is for relaxing on the sofa whilst SWMBO rides horses.
Better deal with the pheasants before getting too comfy though...Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Annual tradition continued with taking the minions to their one set of grandparents and dog. Difference to earlier years was that this year the wife had a work shift.

Recovering, ready for round 2 with other family members.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
Lovely 10km walk in the snow, interspersed by a bottle or two of Pils with Currywurst and Fries, then got back to Coffee and proper Blackforest Gateau.
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

About the only day of the year we have a lie in, get up around 09:00, big fried breakfast at 10:00, 4-5 mile stroll in the hills after, finishing at a pub with a real fire and real beer before heading back for the usual ham based dinner about now. And guests round later for drinks and snacks.==================================

Used to gather round at the parents house with the rest of the family.
Things change now at ours but of course not the same.
Off in the Tin tent tomorrow for a week so some walking and drinking.
