Boot Won't Open...
...occasionally!
It seems to happen when I drop SWMBO off at the supermarket and she goes round to the boot to get the bags and it does not open. She tries a couple of times and waves her arms and then it opens.
It happened today and has happened once or twice before.
Is the arm waving helping or do I have a fault brewing?
I don't want it to fail when the dogs in the boot!
I've searched on here and seen a few people complain about the tail gate actuator, but it seems to be all D3 posts - is it the same for a D4 (MY12)?Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders
Have you checked the microswitch in the handle?
It may have a little corrosion or some crap in it ... Cheers Ian

If your engine is running and the auto's not in park the D4 tailgate will not open

Yep, as above. The D4 wants you to 'accidentally' run-over the misses with the tailgate shut to avoid the mess getting inside.
You have to hand it to the designers.

Thanks for that, I normally put it in park when swmbo waves her arms around and go and have a look! Seems bizarre that you can can get in and out without it in park, but not the boot!
Thanks for all the quick answers, this puts my mind at restSill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Joking aside it is an anti-theft measure to stop scrotes helping themselves when you are stuck in traffic.
But the tips on squishing the misses for that policy remains good.
