boot electical socket - 25 A |
|
Hi, Want to replace / upgrade the existing 12v (12A) electrical socket in the boot for a high capacity dinghy pump - a Jabsco / Rule jobby - pulls 25A max. Said plug can be easily wired into the tow bar service wiring rated at 30A I think. Could wire up to a tow bar service plug but that means removing the bumper flap each time it'll be used - 2 - 3 times a week in summer.
Anyone know who can supply a neat & beefy enough socket & plug that would fit ?
Cheers, no rain today, whoppee
ps This pump fully inflates a 4 man Zodiac in less than 2 mins !

Maybe run a second socket direct off the service wiring inside the LHS boot panel? That would give access to the 30A wiring without removing the tow panel? Cheers

Thanks Simonsi, yes, that would do, the socket (quite bulky things) would stow away fine in the towbar compartment.
Would think there are some sockets that will fit the cigar lighter thingy hole - & that will take the juice, but finding 'em s the thing.
Deffo best plan so far though, thanks.

I've installed a feed for 25A from a wire in the LHS back - I think it was the purple wire.
Have a look at this thread
