Just had bonnet issue. First, open warning came on, found microswitch body had broken of the offside latch. Then neither latch would work. So bought 2 new latches + microswitch unit. Fitted, no change still no latch. Read some posts here, tried the rubbers on bottom of bonnet - they adjust on screw threads - no effect. Tried adjusting latches as far up as possible - no effect. Took latch off and tried in correct position on the catch hook by hand an off car - this latched! So the latch works off the car but no on it. So new catch can't go high enough on car, so filed the square bolt hole to an oblong to allow latch to sit higher on the body. This took 2 goes but in the end it worked just fine and now both catches work.
Moral, try catch off the car on the hook before spending money on new latches, I think my old latches were probably OK just needed re positioning and perhaps filing since they both now work off the car!
