Bonatti Grey V8 - Heads Up

Just a quick heads up for those after a D3 V8. There was a new listing on that auction site. This am I went to view it. For those that might have to travel a long way here is what I found

Car is a finance repo and being sold from a trader at his home.
No V5 or Service history - It's in the post, maybe no service book
1 key and it's broken, so can't lock the car.
Fuel cap release is broken and has been forced
Rear bumper O/S is cracked and a sensor is loose - light flashes on dash
Drivers seat back is adrift from the base, armrest is broken
Glove box latch is broken
Front screen took a long time to clear
N/S rear seat catch broken
N/S rear plastic section all loose and a broken lug
Arm rest catch broken
Been smoked in
Front sunroof visor not operating properly.Sunroof worked fine
75mm scratch to front of bonnet adjacent the lettering
Paint back to metal all the way down edge of drivers door
3rd row sets 1 release catch plastic handle missing
N/S rear tyre needs changing
Front - Rear tyres are different brands
Front discs are slightly lipped

Good parts.
Engine starts and runs fine. It's quiet, idles fine and rev's quickly
Gear changes are smooth
Air compressor works fine
H/L range work fine
No clunks from suspension over bumps, or on lock to lock doing a 3 point turn. Front lower Suspension arm rubber mounting deteriorated according to DVLA MOT site.

I lost interest when I was told that the V5 and Service history were not available, so there may be other stuff that I have missed.
It's not been looked after and needs a enthusiast to sort out all the trim niggles and see if they can get the service history, if it has any.

I'm actually not after one, but thanks for the heads-up - I can't understand why people try to sell cars with such obvious issues without stating them in the ad. Do they think you'd not notice the key doesn't lock the car, or the documents are missing?

May well save some of us from a wasted journey.... Thumbs Up

I viewed a focus st in Darlington when up there on business a few years ago. Great price and immaculate with low miles and new tyres plus perfect wheels. Drove well. The seller met me at his aunts house (he did clearly know the occupants and he was slightly vague and advised that he was in corporate entertainment when asked. I left thinking something was a bit odd and despite having no intention of buying the car wanted to know what the scam was. I googled the sellers mobile number (the only details I had). Turns out he was in corporate entertainment......running stunt driving courses (he and his father had been on Top Gear) and the car could be found on YouTube with paying customers having fun in it! I reported him to trading standards and he got a warning letter. Of course he didn't actually lie, as I forgot to ask the key question.....has the car ever been used in your stunt driving business! I never did get an ST (perhaps no bad thing). As ever, buyer beware.

 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Was just wondering if it was the one I now have, which incidentally is running really well. Similar circumstances for the seller.
