Are they the stick on ones? Are they differefnt to the old D3 style ones?
On my D3 (dealer fitted) after 3-4 years they started to lift at either end, to the extent that I had to open the front doors to let the kids in and out of the back, else the strip would foul the back of the front door and stop the back doors opening.
They did look nice though IMHO! but have been put off them on the D4 for that reason (also its a different colour car)Don't worry..... it only seems Kinky the first time you do it!

BTW According to GTR the updated strips cannot be applied to a vehicle that has had paint protection applied. Warranty claims will not be honoured if this is the case. Wink

Check with your dealer first Peter ...ISTR that it's for non approved\recommended protections 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I did these on my old D3 using genuine LR parts and it was fine for the 2.5 years I owned it. But, as DG says above, "Really Clean". "Measure". "Warm mouldings".
Really clean does not mean wiped over with a dirty dish cloth. Panel wipe or cellulose thinners would be the order of the day, followed with IPA to make really sure. Different cloths of course. And honestly, clean hands as well !!! Oil on hands will ruin the glue right at the edge when you start peeling the backing paper off.
Measure properly. The glue is strong on the trims. If you lay it on wrong you'll be off to buy another one. They're a one shot deal. An old cardboard box will make a decent enough template which you can tape into place as your guide jig for the real thing.
Warmness is king. You absolutely need to be able to form the things round the slight curvature of the door, paying special attention to ensuring the ends are stuck down properly.
How do I know all this? Yep, 4 trims on the car and I had to buy 6. Is it worth it? I think so, mainly because of the parking dent protection it offers.

Thanks mzplcg and DG excellent advice, you have made me realize its not a job for me ! (as soon as I heard the mention of Templates)
I think I will enquire how much fitted at the Dealers whilst making sure my Paint Protection Warranty is not affected.

A wise move I think, you will have warranty just
incase they default, and it seems to happen
regularly. Always walk behind a Shooter and

It must be the camera angle but the photo above makes the mouldings look quite deep but the side-steps are a narrow.
