Body Roll
Hi,
On my previous D3 I replaced the 18" Goodyears with 18" Pirrelli Scorpions and found the vehicle 'rolled' less on cornering, helping to reduce the sea-sickness suffered by my passengers. My latest D3 has 18" Goodyears, and again I'm thinking of changing to the Scorpions.
However, what I'd like to know is whether I'd get a firmer ride, with less body roll, if I moved up to 19" wheels with Pirellis on.

I suppose the only way a tyre can affect body roll would be the sidewalls flexing outwards, so in theory stiffer side walls would equal less body roll, but give a harsher ride. So the less profile the less sidewall flex, unless you put on AT or MT tyres with stiffened side walls. Confused you will be now Club Pie n Pea

I found it a lot better and smoother ride going from 18" to 19", miles better...........

I think it depends on how sensitive you are to the change in 'feel' of the vehicle.

Think I'll look out for a set of 19" rims with Pirelli Scorpion Tyres at a reasonable price (whatever a reasonable price looks like).

Should get a set of brand new, i.e. just off new car, rims and tyres like 7 spoke FFRR for no more than £650. Cheaper than tyres alone.
My last set of FFRR 7 spoke cost £530, and the only miles the car they had come off had done was off the transporter!
