Switching off the egine via the key knocks out the power brakes, so that is dodgy

BN, switching off the engine will not lose the vaccum assist on the brakes, every car has to have enough of a vaccum reservoir for three presses (however hard) on the brake pedal, you will lose the ABS though. If you do switch an engine off whilst moving, make sure you don't bring the steering lock on Shocked
Glad your OK though - I bet your first words were "I doooint beleeeeve it !"
Do LR pay you for being a crash test dummy Wink
{edited to add: Is Anna after her inheritance?}

They are sending out some new underpants, Wallace and Grommet style I think.

Just spoken to the dealer, they want it back again poste haste, they think it could be the two cruise switches, which are linked and need replacing. If they didn't cancel then the vacuum is still left in so it will not cancel. However by pressing the brake it should have cancelled anyway, so maybe they may be wrong this time.

Had it been an auto, and under pressure, it would have been very difficult to get into neautral. They think that could have been a crash dummy situation. Thank god I have a manual. Sod the auto's for me, never liked them never will.

LR CS, reply, "do we have cruise control in our cars, I will find out?" Six months later back in court, judge "well"
"reply Sorry milud, LR CS are still trying to find out if they have or not, it is not on their spec list"

That'll be

then Wink

And the whole story is rather boring really... just usual death, politics and the porr getting trashed while the rich ultimately prevail.
