bluetooth telephone link stopped working - help!
Hi there,
Wondering if anyone can help me?
The Problem
Recently I have been unable to get my Windows Mobile Smartphone to 'connect' with my Land Rover factory fitted telephone system. It has worked for nearly 18 monthe no problem. Same phone, same car. Now it finds the landrover, accepts the code but then says 'No Phone Fitted' on the car display.
What I have done so far
I've tried other (non-windows mobile) phones in the Land Rover and they connect no problem. I've tried connecting my phone to a friends Jeep (there's no accounting for taste ) and no problem. I've taken my car to the dealers and they say its a phone problem They tried several 'bog standard' phones (their words) and they worked fine.
I've heard from another dealer that this happens because after a while windows phones don't end the connection properley and the cars 'memory' gets clogged - don't mind admitting I don't get this - seems a bit strange
The Question (s)
Has anyone else had the same problem?
Does anyone know a what's going on?
Is there a fix / soloution?
thanks in advance

Bluetooth woes
Hi Hudson,
I get the same problem intermittently with my iPhone, culminating in a 300 mile round trip to Manchester with no hands free. Had to stop every time to use the phone legally... very irritating!
Eventually I stopped at services, went for a leg stretch and when I went back to the car the phone worked perfectly !
I discovered that if my phone is not close enough to the Disco when I unlock it, it doesn't pair, and then can't be made to pair unless I remove the connection from the phone, and start fresh with a new connection if that makes sense!
Having to load kid, dog, kit etc. I now go out to the car, open it, chuck my mobile on the drivers seat, load everything up and then get in and start. So far so good, and I have always had the bluetooth connection.
Hope this helps!17" alloys with Cooper ST 240/75, G4 Snorkel, A Bar, Spots and sump guard.

Software updated to the latest version - went in for EGR replacement (under warranty) in February.
I tried everything - turning phone on and off, turning phone's bluetooth on an off, turning ignition on an off, but it appears that the only thing that worked in the end was to take the ket out of the ignition, lock the car and walk away from it. I don't know how sensitive the bluetooth transmitter is about range.
You can't get any of the phone numbers on the screen. I used to have a Nokia phone in the cubby box cradle which showed phone numbers, but in the cubby box I had no idea when I received a text, so I got a bit fed up with it.
Can't remember if it shows the caller ID... and it's pi**ing it down here, so I'm not going to check 17" alloys with Cooper ST 240/75, G4 Snorkel, A Bar, Spots and sump guard.

FWIW I have the same occasional problem with the FFRR.
Phone (6230i) says it's connected and the display says 'No Phone Fitted'. It's a real PITA but the fault is definitely with the car. If you switch off the engine for a minute and re-start it usually comes back with the phone working on the screen.
One interesting thing happened only a couple of days ago. I was driving to Aberdeen when I noticed the 'No Phone Fitted' message. I couldn't be ar$ed to pull in at the side of the dual carriageway and wait to re-start the car so I kept driving. Suddenly, the phone started ringing (through the car) and the display came-up with the number etc. - Almost like it had started working by receiving a call. I had my conversation via bluetooth as normal, however, once the call was ended the screen reverted back to 'No Phone Fitted'.
It's the only aspect to spoil an otherwise fantastic machine. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Wiggs,
Can you update software from the aftermarket bluetooth kit? And does the CCf phone language also change it for the aftermarket kit?Roel

I tried the ccf language setting and that didn't work for me. But I have to damit my CC file is a little strange.
There are severall things that I have a work that according to the CCf are switched off. But that was just after my D3 run out of power.
I am still playing with it.Roel
