Bluetooth & new phone pairing issue |
|
Having a few problems with pairing my new phone to the D3 ,My last phone was a Nokia “N†series had no problems with that phone ,Handset found the Land Rover I entered the pass code and I set as authorised .And every time the car wakes up it auto finds the Nokia and auto connects no problem.
New handset HTC Hero:
Finds the Land Rover I enter the pass code and it connects and establishes a partnership as it should ,except this should be a one time pairing now every time the car is opened I have to enter the pass code!! Every time! Spent a day trying to reconfigure the settings in the HTC handset to no avail even the manual says it’s a one time procedure
Tried to pair it to a Garmin Zumo GPS that I use on my road bike, Finds the device I enter the pass code and the pairing is set. Turn off the GPS wait and turn the GPS back on and it works fine don’t have to enter the pass code as it should be.
Hand book for the telephone system says “maximum of 8 mobiles can be paired to the vehicleâ€
What dose that mean?…8 in one go or 8 in total?
Could it be I have reached the limit??
If so then what to do when you reach 8 do I have to clear them from the head unit ,there zip in the hand book to tell you .If someone could help me out there please?
The HTC Hero hand set is a non symbian OS system phone ,where as the Nokia is symbian phone doses any one think this could be the problem?
Also do iPhones connect ok ?,as they use OSX
Only just got the handset so it can go back in (14 days) I cant bear entering that pass code every time is bad enough with the Sat Nav agree button!!
Can anyone help me please?

It will remember 8 phones but will connect to the last one it paired with when there's a choice.
I'm not sure what happens after eight but I would imagine it deletes the eldest.
You should look for an authorisation in the htc for automatic pairing, I found it once but as I'm back to nokia don't have htc at hand.
good luck,

Spoke to HTC today and the HERO dose self authorise ,have been advised I could need and update on the blue tooth module ,as I tried the handset on two other factory fitted kits (non Land Rover) and they both worked fine no problems.

I have a Sony Ericsson P1i connected through BT on a 2008 D3 and no problems, everything works and in car calls are crystal clear. ATB
