Bluetooth connection (ME spec) |
|
Had a great read thru the site and found many postings on the subject of bluetooth connection. Unfortunately, still not able to connect Nokia 6670 to the car - does anyone know why? The dealer here seems only to be aware of cradle connection with 6230i but with HSE should bluetooth not be standard? Thanks

AFAIK the PTI system is an option - did you specify it? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

If you have the phone buttons on the steering wheel, you have PTI, it is standard on UK 06MY vehicles but specifications vary dependent upon market
Have you set your phone to 'discoverable' and have you tried searching for new BT devices from your phone?

All the buttons are on the steering wheel (2005 model) - set the phone to discoverable, turned off the radio (followed instructions on another post) but just get No Phone Fitted message but would assume this refers to the cradle. No sign of any bluetooth recognition on phone or car.

do you have (or can borrow) another phone you can try? the message applies to both cradle & BT
Not sure about the radio being turned off though
The pairing code (if you get that far) is 2121

The salesman did try his phone a while back but no response. I can use my phone with a hands free kit I have so I know the BT is working on the phone. Just seems a waste to buy another kit when everything seems to be fitted!

from the handbook on the www.ownerinfo.landrover.com site:
Nokia: 6600 / 6670 / 6680 / 6681 / 7610
Pairing with a Device
Step 1: Press the Menu key.
Step 2: Use the scroll key to highlight Connectivity, then press the scroll key centre. Step 3: With Bluetooth highlighted, press the scroll key centre. Step 4: Press the scroll key right to enter the paired devices list. Step 5: Press the left selection key labelled Options. Step 6: With New paired device highlighted, press the scroll key centre. The phone starts to search for devices. Step 7: Scroll to highlight Land Rover then press Select. Waiting for Land Rover appears followed by the passcode prompt. Step 8: Enter the passcode then press the left selection key labelled OK. The device is added to the paired devices list.
Step 9: Highlight Land Rover in the paired devices list and use the Select key to open the options menu. Highlight Connect and press Select. Once connected, Bluetooth will be displayed on the touch screen.
you also need to ensure that your phone has software version 6.0522.0 or higher

If the dealer fit kit is fitted code is 1234 as far as I remember
If you don't have the fittings for the cradle in the cubby box lid it's the dealer kit. The End

Thanks again - it is a factory fit with fittings for cradle in the cubby box. Will try all the other instructions for the BT connection and let you know!

That's it - all above options tried but car does not see BT phone. I assume that the fittings are all in place but there is some dealer work to do to activate the cars BT. I will see on the next service - thanks again all for ideas. 2005 V8 HSE using cheap petrol

Does the phone see the car when you search for nearby bluetooth devices? IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

No - the phone sees nothing at all - but it does see a Jabra that I have on the other car. Since my last post I got through to the local agent who said they need to activate the BT - it 'may have been missed on the PDI' !! You might think if it is a factory fit then activating it would be obvious?! Having done 3 services at which I requested help with the phone I was surprised to finally get to the root of the problem - guess it just depends on who you talk to! Next service should resolve the issue unless I feel like spending 1 1/2 hours waiting... that said - it will be done for free so the agent sounds better than many I have read about. They did replace a broken rear bumper reflector for free because they ordered the wrong part the first time. 2005 V8 HSE using cheap petrol
