GC ...try this

-Make your phone BT discoverable.
-goto the D3 switch the ignition on - turn the radio off
-press the D3 telephone on\off button once on the fascia
-type 2121 into the D3's IHU keypad
-your phone should then say Landrover wants to make a connection (or words to that effect) Do you want to? click yes
-then your phone will ask for a pairing key - type 2121
-click done on your phone

It might be the last resort before the dealers Rolling Eyes

Bluetooth connection

I linked my Sony Ericsson when I picked the car up easy peasy on the instructions in the handbook and was impressed with it. About a fortnight later the car 'lost' the connection when I got in. I tried for about an hour with no joy to get it to recognise/link/search to my phone. I linked my wifes phone and my sons phone no problem so did start to think it may be my phone.

Tried linking my phone to the other phones, my PDA and my lap-top and all worked fine.

I then went into 'stupid IT' mode that I apply to computers; if it don't work switch it off and back on again and start over.

Deleted the car from my phone list, turned the phone off, turned car off. Put all back on again and started like it was 'first time' all over again and no problem.

So, I may still have a problem and it's just a coincidence it worked again?

I know it's not much help to you, but my iMate workout of the Box on my new 06.

Did you buy the D3 from Gargash?

Since you're in Dubai, fancy doing an off-road course when it's a bit cooler?

I have the 05 - as yet I have not been to the agent (Al Tayer Jul 05) to see if the suggestion that they missed connecting the B/T on the PDI is going to solve this issue. I think this is likely to be the solution as I have tried all the other ideas.
As to off road - would love to... Smile

Sometimes it takes a while to get things done! Finally got the car into the dealer and they replaced an ECU? on the phone system - the B/T now works. Bought a 6230i and connected fine - until I moved away from the car and disconnected - then the phone would not auto connect again (despite phone setting of auto connect). Solved this by changing the LAND ROVER name on pairing to LR3 and now it seems to work fine (until tomorrow?!)
Ready now for a trip into the sands (Davie in Dubai - I am on mob 4562481)

well done mate!

Mine will be dropped in tomorrow to have the rattling speaker fixed (again).

Camping in the next couple of weeks for sure.

"GC" - as in Green Community by any chance?

No - G for Graeme - based in Bur Dubai. No other real service issues except for tyre noise now that we have covered 37000kms - Al T's suggest new tyres all around - shame they dont do the spare to front etc. and switch around on a service these days - may have gained an extra few kms! Look forward to getting together - have another LR3 guy and a D2 available for a group.
