Bluetooth Car Kit (on the cheap)

Couldn't afford a fully integrated bluetooth phone kit, as it was £200 at least for a recommended system fully installed but still wanted a quality hands free option. So I've invested 65 of my pounds and bought a Brodit D3 phone cradle for my Nokia E71 with a passive tilt/swivel holder and a Jabra SP700 Bluetooth speaker.

Now I'm not saying it matches an integrated system at all but it is definitely doing what I need it to. The Brodit cradle was so easy to fit and looks very professional and sturdy and the Jabra pairs up with the phone instantly without fail and the speaker is loud and clear. It will also route calls through the front speakers on an available FM frequency but to be honest you don't need any extra volume or clarity.

The Jabra clips onto the sun visor but I actually dont like it there as it draws your eyes to it, so as it's got a flat base I've taken off the clip and stuck it to the roof above my head with some velcro. So I'm pleased with the system for relatively low cost.

It will also stream music on FM but I'm not bothered about that and do voice activation but the Brodit cradle is so handy sitting within finger reach of the steering wheel that I don't need any help from the Jabra for phone book functions etc.

So yes I'm a cheap skate but I'm pleased with the outcome. Whistle Whistle
