bluetooth 1.1; 1.2 and 2.0

As fas as I know my MY 2005 disco supports bluetooth 1.1 and 1.2
The chooice of mobile phones using bt1.1 or 1.2 is getting limited.

Does anybody knows if the system can be upgraded to be compatible with BT 2.0?

Thanks

BT 2.0 phones should be backwards compatible with older BT devices... just some of the newer functionality will not be supported.

If you are changing phones... try and see if you can find someone with the handset to double check or ask the handset manufacturer.

Chipset manufacturers may well decide against backward compatibility of course, but then I don't think they will pass the verification process if they do.

Lots of info here... http://bluetooth.com/Bluetooth/

And the final potential fly in the ointment... a handsets firmware may ensure it does not work with the LR PTI regardless of what version of BT is embedded.
