I agree with ad15, the storm is good at receiving emails, altering them and forwarding them, but as an overall phone its not as good as the iphone. Another thing the storm does have an advantage over the iphone is the camera, the iphone has 2mp camera no flash no video, the storm has 3.2mp camera has flash and does video. I do have both, but it does depend what YOU want in a phone, the iphone 3G is an iPod and plays great games and other applications, the storm plays songs, doesn't really play games at the moment but will sync with iTunes. Hope this helps a little Whistle
Oh and for connection to the land rover, I don't have bluetooth in the landy so can't comment on that bit, sorry!

well put lad, i like to think of the iphone as a small MAC that is also a phone, true the camera isn't great but it actually takes good pics for what it is..

if you use mac's anyway then the iphone syncing etc really is a piece of p+ss

cheers ad15, if you want a phone to be a phone I'd get a nokia! If you want abit of gameplay and tunes get a iPhone, if you want a business phone get a storm or any blackberry.

hey lad,

disagree on the iphone good for music and gameplay alone, I'm a business user and manage to run global business for a brand entirely from iphone when out of the office, never play games and only have an album or two on it, email, calender and the syncing with my mac's make it a great business tool

I'll second that, my iphone is used entirely for business. I had a BB curve for a year, viewing pdfs was a mare and often impossible; forget using the internet on it. With the iphone and mobileme it all works seemlessly.

another vote for the iphone even if apple are a bunch of protectionist tossers Rolling with laughter

Latest firmware can be configured to push info direct from MS exchange which is 99.999 of all business mail servers.

Here in the US (Storm 9530 - the Verizon Wireless CDMA version - probably different s/w so YMMV) it depends on what flavor of PTI module you have on your Disco3/RRS. If the car has the "latest" version that allows phonebook downloads over Bluetooth, the Storm will pair and work fine. If you have the original PTI without that capability built in and have never upgraded the software, the Storm will need to be paired manually - it'll prompt you for the 4-digit pairing code each time - it won't pair automatically. My Blackberry Bold 9000 works fine with a 2006 MY LR Bluetooth PTI, so I guess the Storm should be no problemo!

Kai

Ps phone book does not work, but connection and making calls does just fine. 8)

DON'T GET A STORM.
I'm on my third handset and it goes back this week to be replaced by the Bold.
If you need Blackberry Enterprise, then you'll be limited to the Blackberry hansets, if not I'd go with anything else!
...and yes, the Storm works with the bluetooth
