Blackberry Bold 9900 connectivity with D4

I changed phones to a Blackberry Bold 9900 recently, and it was all working fine with my Jan 2010 D4 - I'd first checked the phone was compatible on the LR website (it is).

Anyway, of late, it's started not to Sync with the car. Nine times out of ten it says "Phone not installed" on the dash screen, and nothing I do will make the two find each other. The only solution I've found is to keep deleting "Land Rover" on my Blackberry, and re-installing the Bluetooth connection all over again. It then works fine for the duration of the journey, but most likely won't connect again the next time I start-up.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any clues?

There's a thread on here somewhere all about BB's and BT connectivity to the D4, sorry can't remember the link. But it'll tell you what several of us have had to do, including getting the latest OS off the mobile vendor's website and installing it from the PC, it's not the same as just doing an "update" on the phone.

I've got a BB Bold 9900 and a D4 BT module in the D3, while it connects perfectly 9 out of 10 times occasionally it does not. Rather than delete the Land Rover Connection try just disabling BT on the Blackberry then turning it back on that works for me and only takes a couple of seconds.

I've got an ancient BB8800 - which also drops of at will - often after I've used another phone - above works 9 out of 10 - though when it is being particularly sulky, I have to delete connection and re - pair (2121) - and I know this sounds stupid - but it happens more often when the weather is cold?

It does sound stupid, but there could be some truth in this - my Bluetooth was failing on the days when it was really cold. Temps have risen in the South East this week, slightly, and the problem seems to have mostly gone away. Hmmmmmmmmmm. One to watch I think.

747 just attempt a connect from the phone before you activate the bluetoooth module (dont open the car) it will fail of course.. but then on starting the car the module will find the phone, worked for me until I put a D4 unit in the car.
