How black is my valley

This morning I am going over to Mick Flacks to investigate why I have at least 1/2 a litre of oil in my V6 valley !
I have bought a replacement oil filter housing and cap and Mick has a spare gasket for it so that will be the first port of call. Fingers crossed that cures it.

Sucking the oil out of the valley before I go Shocked

I had the same issue, turned out to be a poor quality filter housing seal. New seal sorted it. Think it was the wrong profile. Thumbs Up

I had the same issue, when the car was serviced before I purchased it they didnt put the rubber seal in place, so it leaked.

Just returned from Micks. I had twisted and taken a piece out of the rubber seal on the oil filter cap Embarassed but he has replaced the whole unit (Quite a job !)as i had bought it and have had trouble for a while There is quite a big gap in the valley where oil can gather. He also found a diesel leak which had started a few days ago and had quite kindly cleaned the oil out of the valley Whistle So it is all back together with new housing, oil filter and seal Embarassed plus anti freeze. I will monitor it over the next few days (Its quite easy to monitor just look at the driveway when i move the car Whistle ) Thanks Mick you are a star Bow down

How black is my valley (with a mixture of oil and diesel )

How clean is my valley (Ready to fit new unit and for Mick to put it all back together Shocked )
Then just to finish it off i have just found out I have puncture Big Cry

My Father said, when I purchased my first car, that that was the easy and cheap part & after 50 odd years I totally agree.
