Not sure if its always been there, but at low revs while accelerating, I have a bit of a whooshing noise.
As soon as the second turbo comes in, the noise stops.
So I am thinking first turbo hose, but can anyone tell me how to check it? I can see the big pipe across the top, but not the other (I assume there is another!).
No smoke, no hesitation, performance still top notch.

Bump as I have been thinking about this again. Its the sun, it means I am driving with the window open.
Just to reiterate, its a steady whoosing noise, doesnt seem to increase with speed, and goes silent when the 1st turbo stops and stays silent while the second turbo spins.
Still drives perfect, no smoke, and MPG is a good (poor) as ever.
Cheers

Goto the car,
open the bonnet
lift off the plastic acoustic cover (no tools required).
Remove it from the engine bay.
Flip it over and inspect it.
Check for fresh oil spray/stain in the foam matting under it.
If there is one, is it passenger/drivers side?
Report back solider. Discovery 4 HSE MY2010 Lugano Teal

Underside of cover is dry and (pretty) clean.
No oil to be seen.

Your TSOV valve is probably sticking its on the front drivers side underneath, its a known problem on the D4.

Simple enough tp do, remove the lower driver side plastic cover to access the valve. There is a actuator on it like the turbo one, they seize up. I just remove the valve and free them off.
You might be lucky and get it to free off without removing it. There is a small vac hose going to valve you can disconnect this and try sucking on it, if its work you should here the valve close when you release the vac, if not then you know its jammed.
Two hose clips, one electrical connection and three bolts to remove it.

Yes its behind and up from that panel, just be careful if you remove it , it might have some oil in it.

I had a look tonight, and have a few questions!
The rod is stiff-should it be? I have oiled it and its a bit better, but certainly not easy to move.
Should it move when the ignition is switched on? I can here the other one moving, but this one doesnt.
Finally, it does sound further back towards the back of the engine, but I know its difficult to judge.
All help appreciated
