You really need to get the fault code read before you can decide if its advisable to continue.
Where about are you? I can only really advise you about the Malaga area.

If you are able to drive it and it does not affect the performance it may be as you say a warning that the ecu has seen something it does not like it may go away or it could cause more issues if you can get it read and cleared then it would be better but as suggested where are you as i know there is a good land rover dealership in Elche Thumbs Up

If you do not want to go to an LR dealership, I can recommend an independent workshop in Madrid, which knows how to do and is specialized in our dear Discoverys and has Autologic in its service! let me know if you want the name and address of that free land rover specialist in Madrid!
good luck!

Hi
Yes I know where you are at Riaza - nice caravan site there mind you its bad for snow in January/February and getting there from the A4 can be difficult in winter.
Sorry but can't help with LR specialists that area.

Just a thought you could buy a cheap fault code reader for €30/€40 from www.amazon.es

https://www.amazon.es/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/257...fault+code

You would get it within 48hrs (same log in as www.amazon.co.uk)

Once you know the fault code number you could get plenty of advice on this site about what to do.

yes under the 3 year warranty.Land Rover assist suggest I drive to Segovia 50 miles away.Problem is I may drive there and they may not be able to fix and expect me to come back on another day.We are camping in Riaza and are not keen to waste that much time and fuel if its not showing as being an urgent fix.BTW Land Rover assist European are based in Nice in France and have proven to be totally useless !! so bad that we will have to sort this out ourselves.

Hi

There are quite a few Land Rover/ Jaguar dealers in Madrid and of these about 3 are on the North side one is just off the A1/E5.
Fortunately I have never had to use any of them so cant say if they are any good.

If you moved a bit south and stopped off at one of the campsites near Madrid it might be a bit easier.
There are good ones at
La Cabera (North)
Getafe (South)
Aranjuez (South)

I have used all three in the past.

Cheers

Thanks guys,
Went to the LR dealers in Segovia, fairly easy to find thank you google earth and co-ordinates,Seen right away and its a fault the the catalytic converter,Garage cleared the fault......no cost !! drove 50 miles and no sign of light coming on.Just a thought would dirty fuel cause a problem because we filled up at an out of the way garage with their premium fuel ?Thinking we will now proceed into Spain.

Discovery's have pretty good big fuel filters - it would take a huge amount of dirty fuel to get through one.
My D3 has done a lot of miles in Spain and when I drain the filter at a service I collect the fuel to check it and its always clean no particles or water.

Enjoy Spain I have only been there once in June and the heat was just too much.
These days I go mid-October till mid-March to escape the Scottish winter!

If you need any advice regarding Spanish campsites drop me a PM.

Segovia - this winter it was totally snowed in with people skiing down the streets!

Cheers and good luck

Spain 2009 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Bonatti GreyDiscovery 3

Hi Just Jumping in on this thread, I have recently moved to Spain and have just Brought a Local Disco 3 here, which has been a huge challenge but that’s for another thread.

I’m trying to find recommendations for a local(ish) machinic or preferably independent LR specialist. Knowing the issues these trucks tend to throw up I want to have mine fully checked over to hopefully catch any problems early. I’m based in La Herradura about an hour out from Malaga Town, I see Dave mentioned above he may have a contact in the area, but I can’t PM him as I'm new and this is my first post.
Many Thanks,
Mark.
