Big Kev's trip around Australia |
|
Hi guys, 6 weeks into our trip across the country and have arrived at Ningaloo reef on the WA coast. We came via Wilcannia, Broken Hill, Menindee, Uluru and the Gunbarrel. Car and camper trailer went well with only 1 blow out on the trailer. Put a new set of Cooper ST Max 265/70's and fitted well no drama's.
from here we'll head north to Tom Price, Marble Bar, 80 mile beach, Broome and the Gibb. We're keeping a travel blog of our trip so if you are interested have a look at the link below.

Hope all is well with everyone. Kev

Hi Kev,
Sounds like you're both having a cracker of a trip!
Leonie and I will be heading to the Kimberley - but won't reach there until mid July. If your still in the area, I'll try and get in contact.
Cheers,
Rob

Cooper ST MAXX 265/70/R17 |
|
Hi Big Kev,
Are you running the ST MAXX 265/70/17s ?
I have been using the STTs at 246/70/17s and am looking to replace them with the ST MAXX.
How is the wheel guard clearance with these tyres and are they as quiet and tough as the ads suggest.
All the best for your trip.
Thanks

Sorry I missed you in Darwin. it was good to get behind the wheel of the D3 again. I am off next week to try the sands of Dubai and looks like I might fit in another couple of days in Darwin before we head to the USA for 3 years.
I will be back in the top end in January 2013 for a couple of weeks, unfortunately it will be a bit wet but will get some driving in.
You just dont realise how good the D3 is until you have not driven one for a while. Still cant bring myself to sell the LR as I have fitted it out and it only has 80k on the clock.
Hope you are enjoying your extended tour Take the road less traveled.
