Are Bi Xenons a simple swap for Halogen on D4

Hi guys, this is my first post, so if I've got it wrong with protocols etc, please don't roast me alive Rolling Eyes
I wondered if I can swap out my Halogens for Bi Xenon on my D4 my11? Or is there more complexity involved?
Thanks in advance
Karl

In brief, Karl, it's easy. The xenons are the same size and shape as the halogens. There is just a change to the CCF needed to let the car know it now has xenons installed.
As Ianm27 said, lets of info on here.
Good luck with finding some affordable bi-xenons!

Cheers guys. I picked up some from a my12 hse for 195 plus 20 p & p, which I thought was reasonable. I'm looking forward to the led lights although the reason for replacing was because the previous owner of the car gave it a very minor clout offside front bumper and this has broken the rear casing on the bracket at the back of the headlight unit.

I'm new to the Discovery world and have a couple of queries, does anyone know if the voice command button on the steering wheel does anything on an XS model?

Also, is there anyone near Yeovil Som with an iid tool to code in the lamps (and anything else the previous owner had deleted) like the timed heat and 4x4 info etc?

I think timed heat and 4x4 info are not enabled by default on XS but voice control is ... that's certainly how mine was.

Voice control not default but can be activated by IID or similar. not worth the hassle tbh

Xenons are an easy swap

Re the Voice Command - If you can activate it you will soon be annoyed by the constant "Voice Command Not Found" response....

Lol Thanks guys. I'll post up the journey.

Anyone near Yeovil with iid tool to unlock feature?

Also, does anyone recognise those sensors in the bumper mouth picture? I'm still none the wiser!

Regards all
Karl

Just seen the picture you mean - nice bit of remodelling Smile

Im pretty sure the bumper has come off a higher spec D4 and it would have had cameras fitted - might have had blanking plugs there in the past

If you are taking the bumper off take a look at the mounts on the back as they are different for cameras than park sensors - if you are scrapping the bumper I am after a couple of the camera mounts (you can't buy them separately and I just need to cad up some new ones so I can print them)
 Must stop buying shiny toys....
