Best Warranty again - Yawn!
Sorry covered before but what is currently the best extended warranty for a D3 thats done over 100k ?
Warranty direct want £1056 and others aren't interested. SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

There aint no best ones all full of crap (just speaking from my experience with the AA total useless) dont go there

Work out the Monthly Premium, then forget the idea.....................Just bank the equivelent of the premium...All the Warrenty wanna be's try n find a loop hole and in the end the policy holder looses.

Agree, I do the same... . "Self insurance" you could call it. £100 a month into a saving account then when the inevitable happens you've got stash to pay for it, you choose your repairer, and no profit goes elsewhere.
Two scenarios lose out here:
1. You get a major failure costing many 1000's e.g. engine or auto box at any time
2. You get a sizeable failure e.g. turbo in the first few months
I ummed and arred about taking out another warranty after Tesco pulled out of the market. I decided to take one out with Warranty Direct in the end. There has been good and bad discussions on here about them, but I haven't had a claim so can't really comment.
Is that the best price they can give? If you wait a while and let them contact you, they generally reduce the cost significantly.As you slide down the banister of life

They're all a bunch of legalised thieving scum.
They want to take your money but give nothing in return.
They use the old addage "sorry sir, it's wear & tear and we don't cover that"
What's the point of a faffing warranty then ?
Best bet ... "wake up and smell the coffee"
Save your cash and keep a pot of money aside and come around to the thinking that older, higher milage vehicles are going to need the odd part replacing.
If bought from new, chances are you won't have any finance on it, so the odd bill aint going to be a bank breaker.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

At 100K , I would probably agree and put the money into a fund to pay for the surprise repair...............
Howver, with mines at 45K miles, I did take out the AA warranty,and they say it does cover certain things listed,including wear and tear items (because of the low mileage),
I dont see when reading their policy, how they could refuse a blown turbo, or a failed alternator,starter motor, or a failed ECU..........assuming its been serviced, etc etc for only about £24 a month it gives me someone to kick other than myself if the worst happens.............
I suspect they will always challenge grey areas eg. where a gearbox fails or engine fails, (being a "black box" and dissassembly and diagnosis based on personal judgements sometimes ,but its up to you to get enough evidence on your side so you can take them to court if they claim there not liable , where I hope that on the balance of probabilities the court comes down on your side..........
I reckon I could take this warranty up to about 75 000 miles with the same conditions , and thereafter, I think there would be too many get out clauses rendering the warranty useless, not just with the AA but all the other providers as well.............
I've got a 'luxury care' policy with Warranty Direct that is pretty comprehensive and also covers wear and tear though they do have a clause that expects you to stump up a %age of the cost of the parts based on the number of miles the car has done. I've done over 80K now so I have to pay 30% .
I've made 2 claims this year. First one was for my alternator. They paid for that minus £50 excess and 20% for the mileage done.
The 2nd was just recently. Corroded brake pipes (rejected) and worn bushes in both front lower control arms (accepted). Nice of them to honour the wear and tear bit on the control arms BUT crafty b ds have decided to treat the claim as 2 separate claims so they can charge me the £50 excess on each. I'm contesting that decision Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

WD with zero excess, no betterment clause (always pay 100% of any legitimate claim) and main dealer handling. Easily paid for itself cost about £5-£600 I think. Very pleased with mine and would definitely recommend. There's been some stuff that's not covered, but it wasn't mentioned in the policy, so can't complain. For the price of around 5 hours labour at some main dealers - it's got to be worth the gamble and it makes more sense for me in terms of cash-flow.
Read the small print in detail so you won't get any surprises - they're not a blanket policy covering every item. Ultimately, it's all just a gamble. Any insurance company is just betting you that for £X premium, you're going to have less than £X repairs in the year, and you're betting the opposite. Of course, on average, with their market research budgets, they'll always (on average) win. The gamble is just whether you think £5-600 is a fair price to gamble on whether you'll be in the minority group that has over the premium price in repairs over the year.2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Just to complete the situation Warranty Direct have now offered 12 months at £600 from the orginal £1056 after I spoke with one of their sales staff who looks after all Land Rover contracts.
Drop it another £100 and I may well take the insurance out.SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

No parts contribution (no betterment option)
Airbags and emissions cover
Off road use covered (otherwise you're not covered as per point 4 of the 'What is not insured?' section of the policy document)
Genuine parts only (no reconditioned and no cheap replacements)
ICE & SatNav cover
Should be able to get all that for £535 (+ pay over 10 interest free monthly payments)The End
