The Pirelli are relatively new to the market, and Pirelli does spend a lot on R&D. They had a successful line (previous all terrain) but decided to replace it instead of keep selling the same model for many more years.
That leads me to believe that the Pirelli's are a better tyre than the GYD because: The possibility that Pirelli would release an inferior flagship product to the market that gets eclipsed by a 10-year-old model.... is really unlikely.
Not so good at testing F1 tyres, they burst if you go over 200mph , ask Verstappen what he thinks about Pirelli! It can when others can't,
