Bearmach products.. any good?
So... i have just bought a Landrover money pit 3... and will need some parts
This time i'm looking at Aux drive tensioner pulleys and the Bearmach products keep popping up for a fair bit less money than genuine.
Are they any good or should I steer clear?08 D3 TDV6 SE

A lot of their stuff is really good. Disco mikey I think uses a lot of those stuff in his workshop. I personally use them often as they are only down the road from me. Don’t usually have any issues with their stuff but like any aftermarket products they get supplied by multitude manufacturers and not all them are great. I bought a silicone hose kit and rear prop shaft off them recently and they seemed fine on inspection. Every part I used on my D1 rebuild over the years was off them. Can’t think of any problems with the stuff I had. Which was a lot.Jarrod

Tthanks,
I think I'll give them a go as looking on the AF site the Bearmach tensioner is £45 opposed to £88 for the LR one..
Just don't want to fall into the buy cheap pay twice category...08 D3 TDV6 SE
Dont forget to put the code Af4LRP in for an extra 5% off if you are spending over £100 The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

I’d give it a chance. Personally I’m using a lot of Britpart, Bearnach, Allmakes etc. parts o my Series rebuild project. Purely because there is not a lot of choice, because oem parts are long gone.
I have just reconditioned the front and rear axles. The new swivels were a BP kit, and I was very impressed at the apparent quality of the parts. Everything fitted as it should and the tolerances were all within specification. As for longevity I can’t say, obviously it’s not going to be a high use vehicle, so maybe not an issue?

For me im looking at the lower aux drive belt tensioner and possibly crank damper pulley.
i have a whining noise at 1500rpm but after popping the belt off i could still hear it.... will likely need lots of other parts too!08 D3 TDV6 SE

I changed my aux belt tensioner with a Bearmach one over 12 months ago, still all good.
