beam adaptors

Anybody used Halfords beam adaptors on D3 for driving in France.

I assume this is a recquirement.

They are a requirement (well, for Halogen lights anyhow, xenons can be altered manually), and I suppose if you were unlucky enough to be stopped by a gendarme you should have them fitted. I took them on 2 occassions, but didn't fit them (mainly because I never had to drive anywhere when it was completely dark). If I had been stopped, I was quite prepared to throw my arms out, shrug my shoulders and protrude my bottom lip though.. Whistle

Yep used the halfords ones a couple of weeks ago. They were fine. Working out where they fitted was the hard part that and peeling the sticky muck off at the ferry terminal coming home took a few minutes.

WoW... you must be very pleased then Wink

I think with the Xenon's, the beam is not as angled to the left so does not cause any where near as much dazzle for Mr French person... so most just leave them be.

The light is spread more evenly I believe.

Marcon I assume that you have halogen headlights as beam adaptors do not work with xenon headlights.

I'm abit like DND3, brought them last year but didn't bother fitting them.

Mostly day driving to be honest

Isn't there meant to be a tiny cross etched on the lens for fitting such adaptors?

Beam deflectors

Don't spend your cash on them - spend it on a bottle of red wine instead! Thumbs Up

Get a copy of TSB No. LA417-001 (10th Nov 2004) and make you own from some elecrtricians tape.
The instruction shows the correct size and position. They also peel off without leaving that gunk on the lamp!

I've been using my UK reg D3 in France for nearly a year now with Xenons and have never been flashed once yet - so guess that means they're not dazzling anyone. Laughing

I don't think it's sailing tomorrow, but hopefully it will be ok for you at the weekend.

For our trip in August, I booked the "Cruise Ferry" as that fast boat is unreliable at best Confused

I just wouldn't risk it.

Anyway, Bon Voyage

Have a safe & enjoyable trip Thumbs Up
