Battery terminal. Terminal!!!

So the other day I changed alternator. While I was getting ready to do job. Removing power, I found cracked negative terminal clamp on battery, wire was lose. So put it on to do list. Is this common problem of previous mechanics over tightening?. Nothing major but my reason for post is this job of replacing the cable and clamp highlighted a pond sitting over passenger footwell. Remove your battery and look down behind it.... Water was sitting on scuttle and going under rubber that holds on scuttle , and seals to bonet. I have put a small amount of sealent on corners of scuttle to rubber. This has stopped water comming through. And going into well behind battery. Hope it will prevent area of rot and potentially smelly water. Hope my ramble may help. Thumbs Up
