Make sure to disconnect the application (select disconnect) before leaving the car or else the IIDTOOL will keep the electronics active while looking for the phone. Assuming you disconnect correctly then you can leave the IIDTool connected indefinitely without issue of flattening the battery.
Saying that, your battery must be flaky to only last a couple of hours.

A std car battery is made up of 6 cells, each cell is 2.1 volts so you want to see 12.6 volts on a new battery.
People think 12 volt is 12 volts, its not!

If you only have 12 volts the battery is knackered, really anything under 12.5 is on its way and 12.4 means possible armageddon Mr. Green
You can sometimes recover them with a decent charger, but if the car is a bettery hungry monster like any modern car you need new.

If you replace, halfords is the place to go and you are after an 019 Yuasa black or silver top, good discount if you have the discount card or know someone who will lend you theirs Thumbs Up

The once recommended Exide from Tayna batteries aint much cop as it turns out, as it turns out its downright dissapointing Shocked

Exude is great but mine gave out 1 week after its warranty ran out. Annoyed but it wasn’t that expensive and didn’t have the electrical gremlins with the original LT battery
