I have had a number of flat battery problems recently.
The problem generally occurs if we are in and out of the car or sitting in it watching cricket: no lights, fans or accessories switched on. It also happened the other day when I was in and out of the car checking the oil level. In all cases, the smart key had been left in the centre console.
The battery is not that old.
Usually, a period on the end of some jump cables with donor car running or charging on a heavy duty booster does the trick.
Any thoughts?

Swap the interior lights bulbs for LEDs. Powerful UK do a kit which is great that has a YouTube video on how to get each out (don't bother with Vanity Mirrors).
As you swap them over you'll be surprised how hot the OEM bulbs are, like little heaters each of them.
Will make quite a difference.
There is more you can do but that was enough for me.

You may also wish to try these battery monitors by CTEK.

Google around as you'll find keener prices (if they are in stock). Easy to DIY fit and link to your phone via an App. Will show you the state of charge in your battery(s if you use on on the S/S too).
May help you understand if you are starting from a low charge point.
May well be your battery is on the way out.

Just a thought, was the car battery monitor reset when you replaced the battery, you mentioned that it isn't that old.

I know you say the battery isn't that old, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't faulty. I'd be checking it out fairly high up on the list of things to do to solve that.

I wonder if leaving the key in the console means the car is not going to sleep properly & the ECU's are still consuming current. I know it will happen with a D3 if the key is left in the ignition even with it switched off.. Five hrs and mine was down to 7 volts.

I have wondered about this, too. My battery and alternator test fine, but I've had a flat battery when detailing the car with fob left inside, or when sleeping inside. I've switched my interiors to LED, and turn them off when I know I will be in/out of it often. ‘98 DI
