BAS slow support at the moment.

HI all.

Id like to appologise to anyone who has had slow support and email replys from me over the last month or two.

This is due to me having a really bad back and extremely severe excruciating sciatic pain down my right leg and buttock, from what they say at the hospital they think is a crushed or torn dics in my lower spine, the MRI im waiting for will conform this they tell me.

A few days ago had a steroid epidural nerve root injection (not nice) to try and help with the pain and inflmation of the nerve whilst continually taking over 50 tablets every day as i have done for the last month just to keep me mobile and stop me from just curling up in a corner screaming with pain.

I hope to be slowley getting better, but i please ask you to forgive me if my relpys to pms, emails and phone calls are shorter than you would normaly expect from me. The continuous sleep less nights and very strong pain killers and nerve numbing drugs are just slowing me down more every day.

Pete

Pete,

Really sorry to hear this, I've been off work for a few days for excrutiating pain in the shoulder which looked as if it was going to be long term but thankfully the anti-inflammatory drugs seem, for now, to have done their trick.

Do you think you'd still be okay for the 6th for my 4x4 screen?

I should be ok, its the lack of sleep that seems to be catching up on me at the moment.

The pills are 6hrly, they take 1hr to start working and only last for 4 hrs so i have to wait in pain for 1 more hr before i can take the next set which again will take 1hr to start working its a vicious circle Sad

Im going to have to speak with the doctors as i cant keep going on like this, im also supposed to be on holiday in 5 weeks which is another problem i need to sort out Sad

Pete

Pete,

Thanks, we all think our bodies are invincible but chronic pain can be so disabilitating. I'm sure all the forum members are feeling for you.

Pete,

Try and get an inversion table....so you can hang upside down for 20 mins a day

I've had 3 slipped discs and the same symptoms and all improved using one of these tables.

Takes the pressure off your discs

Sorru to hear that, I know somebody in the same position who said it's the worse pain they have ever had. Fortunately it's starting to get better, so hopefully yours will too.

Ask about a Tens machine as they can help between tablets, but you need the hospital strength version.

Bad back

Hi Pete
Really sorry to hear your back problem - goes with the trade.
I have had trouble with a bad back for years & sympathize as I have been where you are now.
I have to say that the treatment that I found to be effective was delivered by Theraflex machine. http://www.theraflex.info/ I was lucky to have a practitioner locally & having tried everything else had a go I know it does not work for everyone but I like the theory behind it and in the early days I would return 20mm taller. If you get chance give it a go.
Regards
Bill

You have always been an utter and absolute dynamo of energy and enthusiasm on this site and in all your dealings with customers and their various problems. Having personally witnessed you in action last year at billing, responding to everone so willingly and freshly, no matter what, i was really quite blown away by your energy and enthusiasm and left feeling quite humbled.

That you now have a problem that you need to concentrate on sorting out is but only human.
Not one member on this site will sensibly begruge you any amount of time that you may need to recouperate.

So please take all the time you need chap.
and all the best wishes in the world from me and every member for the best and speediest recovery.

BTW i just hope that you will entrust yorself entierly to my own personal care when you visit us in early September.

Pete

I crushed two disc's about 20 years in the motor trade and its no joke, Its hard to explain to somebody how excruciating the pain is that have not suffered this type of injury, I spent two weeks on the floor and my toilet was a bed pan as I could not even crawl on all fours from out of the room..

Good luck and hope it gets better but i know your suffering... get yourself a good body belt it helps..

Flack Thumbs Up
