Bargain 22’s

Picked these up in the scrapyard yesterday. Assume they will fit a D3 ? No damage apart from some kerb rash, given them to refurbishers this morning. Thinking gunmetal gray ?

Question is what size tyres do I need for them and what’s the recommended rubber ?

Current : D3 2007 HSE - AKA the lemon

I'd check the pcd before doing any work on them or buying tyres.

They look like Khan wheels and a chap on the FL2 forum has these 22's on his FL2.
FL2 pcd being different to the D3/4

I thought genuine Kahn wheels had the name stamped on 1 spoke.

Kahn did do the same style for RRS (and therefore D3 & D4). You'd need to try one or measure the PCD.

For tyres you arent going to find any 22's that are weight rated high enough for the D3 (at 111). I think best you might find are 107's (275/40x22) but not sure these would fit

closest tyre size to standard 255/55x19 would be 285/35x22, but only ever seen these weight rated at 106

285/40x22's come in rated at 110 (these are what are on my D5 as standard) but again not sure these would fit. If your D3 in pre 07 then it would need the chassis protrusion at the rear of the wheelarch removing as this fouls bigger tyres.

check out https://www.wheel-size.com/ used this before buying a set of 20" RR alloys on the weekend.

There is a listed 22" rim for the range rover 5x120 PCD and same 14mm bolting (9.5Jx22 ET49) there is a calculator you can use to compare and assist with tyre sizing too Thumbs Up

problem with the tyre comparrison sites is they show sizes but not weight ratings, and that site also shows 20" rims for the D3, which LR never fitted, not even as an option - 20's only started to be fitted as standard when the D4 came out

Hi all thanks for the replies. I’m still in 2 minds about them. Don’t really want the roller skate look. I’ll see what they look like when they are done and if they even fit. If not i’ll Sell them on. I couldn’t leave them there for £50 !!

Red Merle : huge wheels on a car shaped like a discovery. Looks like a roller skate. Just a personal opinion. Lol

Just my opinion but 22 inch wheels on a D3 is just wrong....

I see what you mean and I’d agree. Disco’s tend to look better and better, in inverse proportion to the size of the wheels fitted! Thumbs Up
