If you buy the LR spots kit the factory illuminated switch is included.
They Switch on with the main beam.

And if you want the spot lamps on without any other lamps your stuffed with the LR kit. The reason I wanted to wire mine is so I can fit an override so I can illuminate a workspace for a short while without having to leave the keys in the ignition. I agree the LR switch is more prominently mounted but didn't like the idea of cutting into the dash.

must admit i am a little confused! so if you wire it up yourself as you lot seem to you don't need to enable the software but you do with the LR kit?? Might just wire it myself but get hold of the illuminated LR switch for the desired look!
Have just bought an ebay am picking it up tomorrow but doesn't have the fitting kit with it, apparently i can get this from the dealer unless anyone has one floating about??2011 D4 SDV6 Auto Commercial

You will also need BY LAW to ensure the Driving lights are on a seperate switch if you wire yourself. They now check this on the MOT
The driving lights on both my D1 and D3 are wired into the high beam circuit without a separate switch. Both vehicles have had 3 MOTs with the lights wired in this way and there have been no issues raised. The last MOT was in March this year.
If you could post a copy of the relevant section of the Law you're referring to Jason it would be helpful to many of us on hereClubs Mantec, Tasmods, LEDS, AT2s on 18s, Maxxis Bighorns on 17s, Remote FBH, BAS. ReMap, BSS., RLD Personalised SWP., Safari Snorkel, Faultmate, Three Musketeers & MUD

Stop being one Phil....................we all know that the DRIVING lights a required by LAW to be on a seperate switch to the High Beam....You know that, I know that, TFC knows that who wired mine

I'm not being 'one' nor anything else Jason. I genuinely would like to see the Law you refer to.
My understanding is that as spots / driving lamps are not mandatory fittings they don't come under the MOT test. They may be deemed to have to comply with C & U regulations i.e. that the spots / driving lamps go off when you switch to dipped beam but I've not seen anything that refers to a requirement to have them switched independently to your high beam.
I'm no expert hence my request to see the relevant Law (section of MOT Tester's guidance) posted. If I've got it completely wrong I'll be happy to incorporate a switch in my circuits.Clubs Mantec, Tasmods, LEDS, AT2s on 18s, Maxxis Bighorns on 17s, Remote FBH, BAS. I have looked at the legistlation tonight after posting, and "HUMBLE PIE" it seems, and being gullable from my MOT station....
I was told be my MOT Station this was the case, and although I am separetely switched I still made sure they had the covers on...naffs me off no end cos for the last 2 mot's I went out my way to isolate this matter
They cannot be wired to normal lights, but can be HIGH beam, and any other lights like the rack need to be seperately wired by switch.
What puzzles me is why LR have them seperately switched, enabled etc etc................is this just a way of sealing a accessorie for any future law change.

Having them separately switched just gives the option of having them on or off. However, if they were wired and switched independently of the high beam circuit it means you could switch them on at will including when your dipped beam was on.Clubs Mantec, Tasmods, LEDS, AT2s on 18s, Maxxis Bighorns on 17s, Remote FBH, BAS. I cant, TFC wired mine....mine can be switched on/off only when HIGH BEAM selected.....that is what I was led to beleive the current legislation, and how LR intended on the D3 fitment

I fitted my driving lamps, and wired them throught a 'hella remote control relay'
£25 from halfrauds
the relay is control mastered by the high beam power
and then I can switch on/ off as I choose
once high beam is selected
it works quite well for me
and I can highly recomment ' 'hella illuminator compact metals' as

Hi, I have tried to locate the green plug at the passenger side (RHD vehicle, left of vehicle looking forward), there are a few green plugs around and they are so difficult to take off. Any easier way?
Front parking sensors already have extended cabling fitted - which means you just need to snip the cable tie when installing and fit the sensors through the a-bar holes.
If you do install a winch be careful of the front parking sensors though!
Oh, and don't forget 10forcash - http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/member179.html
who can either do this for you, or enable the feature using his box of tricks.
Might be easier to get hold of than Wiggs, but I do say might.
