A Bar on Ebay
Has anyone bought a chrome or stainless A Bar for the D3. There is one on Ebay for 200 smackers and was wondering if they were any good . I had also toyed with the idea of getting a custom bar made from rectangular Stainless and polished up but wondered about the fixing underneath. If anyone has one could you let me know and if there is much to holding it in place. I would buy the one on ebay if it was sturdy and secure rather than going to the trouble of a custom one.
Thanks
Al

Are those sort of A bars still legal in Ireland I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

the only a-bars that are legal now in the E.U are these,

they are made of Polyurethane by concept mouldings,
if buying from e-bay make sure the a-bar has the fixing kit with itIf in doubt............flat out.

My understanding the ONLY metal ones that get round this EU law or the Winch Mount Bumpers, that funnily incorporate a Bar too , but Metal A Bars will not pass a MOT, and will probably gather attention of the fuzz

I didnt realize that they are maybe illegal , probably due to the fact that every second or nearly every single land cruiser in ireland has an metal a bar > I thought they only made the wrap around ones illegal?
From May 2007 any fixed front protection needs to comply with some EU law which i cannot recall numbers of.
The newest LR nudgebars comply to this specification but earlier bars do not, If you fit an earlier or non complient bar to your vehicle after this date you open yourself up to posecution if found that this item caused injury to pedestrians.
If you have an earlier bar fitted to a pre 07 car then you can get a replacement (if damaged in an accident) by orderng through a LR dealer by filling in a release form but this should not be abusedTLO has left the building.......

Never mind the 2.7 T following very closely behind the bar
You sound like a right euro cheese eating surrender monkey there Nick
Mayoman, its amazing how many non-discos have them fitted in Ireland, from Landcruisers to Hi-aces. Not sure how they get away with it to be honest
