Well,that's the old saying anyway......
After getting my front diff replaced last week, and getting the leaking EGR pipe removed, refitted and re-sealed,last night my tailgate switch failed and wouldn't release the upper section.....so am I in the clear for a while ?..... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

The tail gate thing is scary. I thought they'd addressed that a while ago with a more robust modded part? So they're still crap, then?PAGODA

As I was surrounded by a dozen D3 owners at the Scotland Central Area Meet when it failed, that was pretty much the concerned thoughts of all present......"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

No mate that's not correct, the only Luck I get is bad luck ! It just keeps on comming !
On a positive note its good to see that the EGR's and tailgate latch are still a problem on well used D4's
Well its positive for us lowly D3 owners ?Only dead fish go with the Flow !

Surely bad luck only comes in threes for Disco 3s, for Disco 4s it would be four. Would hate to have a 110!!

Glad I got a MY14 Discovery then DSL... (no 3 or 4 for us)
To be honest I already have three minor (I hope) issues, so...
Just to clarify sth about the tailgate: when I press the latch it unlocks, but not completely, I have to press again to open the upper tailgate. Is this normal, or do I have 4 issues to address?

Last night it would not unlock or open manually, only using the fob,and even then it would not release fully....this morning its not even doing that "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Sounds like new parts required I changed the lock actuator and the cable complete, complete rubbish design cheap and nasty! Stamped Fomoco says it all !! While your there give the release handle a good clean as the micro switch tends to seize especially when the boot is full and you need to unload in France at the dead of night

Don't forget to mention that if the seal should fail then the loch mechanism can fill with water and will then freeze solid overnight
