bad dash squeak in a 2007 D3

I have a 2007 TDIV6 SE Discovery
It has an intermittent loud squeak coming from the rear of the dash or fire wall. The sqeak starts after the engine is at operating temperature and the panels are warms. It is reduced on cold days. It occurs intermittently , sometimes incessantly for 10 minutes at a time but will occasionally stop if I turn a corner or hit a bump. Does anyone know where it is coming from or how to stop it?

Did you ever find the cause of this squeak?

My vehicle has just had the dash removed to find a similar one. Apparantly the dash is hung on steel pegs attached to the firewall. According to the description from the dealer these pegs were "missing the insulation". I'm not sure quite what that means but whatever they did has stopped the noises.

G'day Martin.
Sorry for the delay in responding.
My dash squeak disappeared after a 9000KM trip to Cape York. I assume that the constant driving over corrugated roads eventually wore the offending part down.
I am no longer seeking the truth, I am now looking for a good fantasy.
