back from France and a few comments
Firstly what a machine. We have a lunar 650 so its not light and we had 2 bikes and a roof box
Sat nav is poor imho compared to vw, merc and volvo
We had to get a move on at one point and I was amazed at the stability. Although it doesnt like scanias the new merc actros, tankers or wagon and drags in close convoy #twitchy
We did 1700miles and averaged 17.5 according to trip so im guessing that's closer to 16.5!
Keyless entry is fantastic and so is harmon kardon (when kids aren't in it)D4 Fuji White HSE with Black Pack, TV, RSE, Tow Pack, Side Steps & Heated Steering Wheel

Each year I have my car transported back to UK for it's MOT (to keep it legal here in Spain) it costs £600 each way by transporter.
However last August I drove it from Peterbrough to Sotogrande (about 8 miles from Gibraltar) fuel on the French Motoways was Euro 1.67 per litre, so with the fuel bill, tunnel and the tolls it worked out about £750! Club Narpy Torch

I have looked at that but the import duty, IVA and replacing the headlights very expensive certainly in the Euro '000's as the duty is worked out on car value and emissions.
LR's are v.v. expensive over here, although you would never know by the amount of FFRR, RRS and D4’s on the roads there where I live. A sync may suggest there's a lot of money to be made in smuggling Cig's from Gibraltar and drugs from Morocco (as if !!!! ).
This year will probably be the last time as I am going bite the bullet as buy a second-hand D4 in the next few monthsClub Narpy Torch

Gabbo - if your trip comp is like mine, it could be reading 3 to 4mpg to the good, so if its saying 17mpg, you could be down at 13 or 14 real MPG.
I did around 950 miles with our Bailey twin axle (1700Kg) on the D3 down to the Dordogne, then back across to the Vendee and then home, and trip comp tended to stick around 21, but actual mpg was 18.
The Bailey, given its slab front was not bad stability wise (not as good as our old Abbey was), and the only thing that gave me the twitches was an open car transporter - must have been messing up the air a bit.

i only find an issue with the coaches ,as they can come past at a rate and mess your air flow
but with ATC on the trailer and 2.5 tonnes of LR is is a momentary thing MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

1500miles to the Charente Maritime and back with our Bailey Senator - 18 miles to the gallon (pump measured, not trip computer - that said 23 ).
Agreed, it's the car transporters that really mess you up

Didn't find an issue with car transporters just the ones I said above. Our lunar is fairly slab fronted

sorry Gabbo - hopefully one of the improvements in a D4 is a more accurate trip comp

Gabbo - yes, St. Augustin
Logis du Brueil - great site, been before and enjoy it every time. Pitches are enormous (150 m2) and great facilities with fantastic pool.
Only problem this year, just before we were leaving, our travelling friends (200 + ) turned up on the adjacent field. Gendarmes just stood around with hands in pockets whilst they hooked up to the elctricity pylons, broke open the fire hydrants etc etc - now, where have I seen that before
Christian, Claude and co were not amused and have vowed that 'there will be changes for next year'

It's an excellent site - we left on 15th. You obviously enjoyed it, I guess the kids did too
Which route down did you take, we did Portsmouth - St. Malo. Easy run but an expensive option
