Awseome MPG - for me anyway!
Not that that is new news but I am EXTREMELY impressed by the MPG on my MY08 SE
100'ish mile trip to Rugby today delivered the following MPG
32.5 This is around 10mpg more than I was getting with the last one I never EVER managed to get the Blue D3 over 30mpg on any journey in three years
This photo was taken at Corby services - it actually topped out at 33 by the time I got to Rugby (though in my haste to get home this evening I had successfully depressed it to 30.5 )
Based on a £1 litre diesel price I reckon I am going to save at least £800 a year in fuel if I can keep the MPG up at around 30 on this one (and over £1000 at last summers prices) more than enough to cover the increased Road Tax and Insurance and a service too Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

So what, if anything have LR changed to make an increase of this magnitude possible, and is it something that could be retro fitted I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

and the trip comp under reports so you are actually getting better
I've calculated since buying the tune up, 16 tank fulls will have it paid for in fuel economy alone.
I never could get above 25 prior to the map, on a recent trip to york got just shy of 33 on the motorway sitting at 70 ish. Well pleased.

TO be fair - half of the difference was down to Cooper ST's, Expo Rack, A-Bar and Ladder
I was just pleased to see what others had been reporting about their newer D3's MPG capability 8) (not that I can see me ever getting to the 40mpg some have reported)
All good fodder for SWMBO though Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Which 'Tune' or remap did you buy to get such good fuel economy?

SN - is it auto? That would be impressive.
Can get a displayed 30 to 32 quite regularly on my MY06 but it is manual and I don't do any town driving.I'm on a whisky diet. I've lost three days already.

741hcr I got the box from Bellauto's (he is a forum sponser do a search and you shall find)
Gives you loads more power for overtaking and more mpg to boot.
You also get the box to load the 'normal' map into the D3 for service time so the useless dealers cant blame the map. It also displays any fault codes.
Well pleased with it.

That's exactly 10.3 mpg better than mine I have not reset the MPG O'Meter since July last year, and its currently 22.2. I have STT's on at the moment, but even if I were to put the road tyres on it would only get 23.
The newer engines are definitely better on fuel. Some say the torque converter behaves differently, some say the newer engines are noisier, what do you think Steve?

Managed 37 out of my MY'08
Now down to 28/29 due to RAI, AT2's and the fact it needs a jolly good 10forcash 30K service (inc air filter).

Well you do have the advantage that your fuel costs peanuts compared to ours
