My V8 uses, depending on the kind of use, between 15 and 19 mpg. I'm known as a very careful driver, I'm a bit surprised seeing some of the posts here... (and yes, I know a diesel does better mpg ).
How are other V8 users doing in mpg?
regards,
Wiljo

tiz holding about 30mpg still - includes another run down to Birmingham last night and pottering around town yesterday and today
I do notice that theres about 2 mpg difference between 75mph and 85mph on the cruise
To buddaman - your 19mpg is worth an English 23.75 mpg don't forget so not too bad at all for a petrolSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I got 30 mpg on mine the other day on a 100 mile trip motorway driving sitting on roughly 100 kmph . i was well impressed. it has 77k on clock and it is an auto and no re map
I have 2008.5 XS Auto and get 30-33 on a regular basis with no remap. My commute from Poole to Staines is mostly motorway and dual carriageway with a fair dose of stop-start-stop-start from Fleet Services to the M25. I tend to sit at 70-80 but sometimes sheer volume of traffic drops that to 50-60.
My return journey is normally a bit smoother but I've decided to stick to around 70 as I find that traveling any faster only results in catching up the traffic ahead doing 70! I frequently get 32-34 on the return.

My V8 returns 20 to 21 mpg according to the readout. Using brim to brim checks I know it is optimistic by about 8%, so reckon about 18 to 19 mpg.

Hiya - does your 08 plate have a comfort heater, we are convinced that our 05 disco heater causes the car to use more mpg when its working on very cold days.
I have no idea what a comfort heater is so don't know whether I have one or not.
What I do know is it takes a while in the morning to settle down. For the first 15 miles or so the consumption is high but seems to settle down after that.
