They know but don’t care, all they want to do is shift boxes, if your not buying your irrelevant.
Providing a service is an inconvenience.

United Kingdom

I rang two dealerships today and both were terribly busy to answer their service reception phones, plus one of them I wouldn’t really trust to repair a second hand moped.

I’d consider an Indy, but when the things I need done under a new car warranty are D5 software updates, what choice do I have?

If it weren't for the Approved Used warranty, I'd have it at an indy shop.

An indy can do work under the LRA warranty...

Yes and no. The indy has to have some form of JLR approval and access to the JLR service/computer system.

Our local independent Stonelake in Halifax are very good and come highly recommended by us. Thumbs Up Only slight issue with warranty work is they need approving by a JLR assessor who comes on Tuesday and Thursday so can create a slight day or two to get the approval.

They have done quite a bit of work on our D4 under JLR extended warranty.

What I like about Stonelake, we can turn up without announcement and say we have a slight niggle about XYZ. Twice now we have had to wait all of 10-15 minutes before D4 driven into workshop and hooked up to computer so they have an idea what is the cause of our concern. Discussion on when it can be booked in, do we need a courtsey car etc.

Please get a good working relationship with your local independent specialist and it is amazing what can happen. Also helps if you take some homemade biscuits in the shape of Land Rovers or a few bottles of beer/wine or a selection of photos from your trip abroad. People appreciate being appreciated!
