If you are RHD your main battery will be on the left hand side, with the LHD the battery is on the right hand side, the opposite side to where your battery is will be an empty battery compartment, it house part of the brake servo, but you can fit the yellow top in, I can do photos later if needed.

So here is the engine bay on a RHD:
This is the aux bat fitted in the drivers side box, notice the smaller space due to the brake servo being fitted there, can fit a yellow top nicely:
hope this helps

Big Kev, being from Australia, and having an Australian D4, does not have a FBH. The Traxide kits fits a battery tray in front of the main battery, and works well.
Personally I use a Optima Blue Top, which has the screw terminals the Traxide kit's battery leads crew onto, rather than using the adapters.

I put in Traxide unit a few months ago with an Optima yellow top and it fits perfectly. The new units that hold the battery in place are designed for the Optima. Tim from Traxide was very helpful. I suggest you call him.
Optima D34 is the one to get. Be warned the prices vary a great deal! For example, Batteryworld charge over $400 for them! But you can get them from eBay for about $243 delivered.
Cheers,
Rob

Hey Kev
You must have some klm's on that D3 now. Are you still pulling the Travellander around with you?
My D3 is now in Townsville with the son in law, hopefully will get to drive it in March. Looks like we are over here in the USA for a couple more years as Jen is now CEO and I am still a kept man.
cheers
