Aux socket

I apologize now if this has already been answered, but as a newbie (and I have been trawling back through to see if I can find an answer....) what exactly is the aux socket for? I’ve tried plugging my phone and iPad in for music, but it doesn’t work. Question help, I live n France and French radio is not the best....

Turn the volume up to max in your phone.

And turn the head unit up higher than normal

yes pressed the Aux button next to the radio so the screen says Aux, and maxed the volume on both phone and radio. I take it theres only one kind of wire....? with the headphone jack at each end?

He's saying each jack plug has 3 separate contact points, that's all. Wink

Mine works but the sound quality is awful. Not worth it in my opinion, likely to be disappointed I am afraid. Lots of crackling, feedback etc Played with it for ages and gave up in the end.
