On the base model you will find the aux connection behind the cover in the passenger footwell.

Aux input on base radio.

Wired up a stereo jack socket to the aux plug in the passenger footwell. Works perfectly with my Ipod, no reduction in sound quality or volume. Simple inexpensive job.

A big thanks' to everyone on the forum contributing to the various threads on this topic, especially to Wiggs for his guidance and photo's.

Wiggs, I see that the aux wires go into the top of the plug in the footwell and assume they go up to the aux connections on the radio?
What comes out of the bottom?
Is there a plug to go into or do you have to splce the wires coming out the top?

Cheers

Yes the wires in the top part go to the stereo (head unit)

The bottom plug (if you have one fitted ) should go to the aux socket at the rear of the center consul.

There is quite a big gap were the wires are in the top ..i used some small female crimps which pushed in there nicely

I have the Griffin Tuneflex too, it works as advertised. A couple of problems, though - 1 it falls sideways and 2 the iPod is never standing straight as it has a bit of give at the dock to reduce vibration of the iPod. The third issue is that whenever I go offroad the sand in the air sticks to the flex arm like glue - guessing it has something to do with the electricity passing through it. It works well, but not the ideal installation to leave on permanently. If you have the option of installing a LR kit, I would think it would work better.

I have a leather-covered shell case on my Ipod, I keep it on all the time. Is there a car cradle, perhaps with clamp sides that will accept a case. I don't necessarily need to charge the Ipod.
