Automatic Volume Control working?

Anyone actually heard a volume difference with the AVC setting on the hi-fi? I've tried various settings, radio stations etc - maybe my hearing isn't finely enough tuned - but once you go at higher speed it is definitely less audible whereas I thought AVC was a feature to step up the volume automatically? Very Happy

Mine works well, have it about 1/2 way otherwise it gets too loud! (Nov 2004 HSE). Vol. seens to rise between 50 to 60 from memory.

DiscoDuck - thanks, will try that - the News & Traffic volume offsets work & are definitely lounder (I take it it wasn't that which you have?) - I have the volume at 11 normally, but at higher speeds (lets just say motorway speed) have to manually turn it up to 13. Will reset the AVC setting & try again - thanks

I do think the AVC works - I think the problem is just that the volume increases in a straight line, whereas actual cabin noise increases exponentially. In other words, whereas the the AVC may increase the volume by 1 for every 10mph, the difference in cabin noise between 30-40mph will be much less than the difference between 70-80mph

If you get what I mean.
