Autologic fault code meaning? |
|
Hi,
A friend of mine is currently very far (across the border, in the bush. no such thing as LR assist) from a LR dealer and had what seems to be a faulty EGR valve on his RRS TDV8. Managed to free the stuck valve and get going again. The local mechanic has Autologic and it came up with the code "048". He doesn't have a clue what this means.
He's going to keep driving and use command shift to drive at high RPM for a while to try and clear the EGR valves, but if anyone here knows what that code means, it would be useful!
Many thanks

that's not the full code, there are two with '048' in them...
P048700 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Control Circuit A / Open Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) throttle position sensor circuit high resistance
Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) throttle position sensor circuit short circuit to ground
Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) throttle position sensor circuit short circuit to power
EGR modulator failure
Check the EGR throttle position sensor and circuits. Refer to the electrical guides. Using a data logger function, check the EGR throttle position with the ignition on, engine off and record the value. Command the actuator to 100% pulse width modulated (PWM) and recheck the position reading. The value should be 80 - 95%. Command the actuator to 0% pulse width modulated (PWM) and recheck the position reading. The value should be 5 - 20%. Manually close and open the throttle and check the resistance. The resistance should range from 300 - 2,500 ohms. If the values are not in this range, install a new EGR valve. Clear the DTCs and test for normal operation. If there is still an issue, suspect the ECM. Refer to the warranty policy and procedures manual if an ECM is suspect.
P048800 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Control Circuit A Range/Performance Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) throttle position sensor circuit high resistance

Note that these are for the TDV6 but as the codes conform to ISO standards they should be valid for the TDV8

Well I reckon its the ERG valve
The top of my Land Rover pen unscrewed in the glove box the other day I called LRA and they diagnosed a fault with the ERG. He screwed the end back on and put lock-tite on the thread. Its been fine ever since Ive got pictures I will post later. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
