AutoGuard Platinum Warranty.

The car that I am interested in has a 12 month AutoGuard Platinum Warranty.

Does anybody have any experience of these?

Also quote "OPTIONAL Benefit of a 24 MONTH EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH MAIN DEALER LABOUR RATES & BREAKDOWN, Charged at an additional rate of £599".

Is this a good deal?

Thanks.

In order to answer your second question, I think we would need to know what the car is . Presumably a D3 or D4. Age? Mileage?

Thanks for that info.
I can’t comment on Autogaurd but can compare prices with Warranty Direct ( by the way , you could always get yourself a quote for the car with them even if you haven’t purchased it yet). That seems like a very good price for cover and breakdown for two years (almost too good), so I think the key is what does it cover exactly?
Mine is a June 2015 and had about 23k miles on it when I took out my warranty direct cover straight after manufacturers warranty. I ticked all cover options to cover everything on the car (which is pretty comprehensive and they do cover wear and tear too), uncapped labour rates (so allows main dealer) with a £50 excess and it was £1450 for 3 years. I think they were about £500-£600 for a year if I remember correctly. Key to going with Warranty Direct is that they cover the crank failure issue that has caused problems for a few on here. Even the LR arranged extended warranty doesn’t cover that (goodwill from manufacturer is required). To cover your car would be more than mine as it has done more miles and WD costs are very much mileage dependent.
Warranty Direct seem to have quite good feedback on this forum. If it was me I would do a fairly thorough search through cover (you could compare with WD to find any gaps) and look at feedback on Autoguard ( which others on here may have too) to see if what you’re getting is good value. After all, although £599 is relatively cheap it’s a lot of money to throw at something that has poor cover.
Good luck with the purchase.

The warranty terms are found at
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source...9Cec61Wvhu

Looks fairly comprehensive, just make sure the car meets all the requirements conditions and terms of the warranty to lessen any chance of claim rejection and do a google search to look at the reviews, as previously also worth checking out warranty direct.
But having said that you pays your money and you takes your pick.

Fingers crossed and good luck with your new car.
