auto wipers

Have just had rain sensing windscreen replaced with another land rover one, and since then when first starting car the wipers will wipe once and if you select reverse the rear will also wipe the once. This happens about 50% of the time. Wipers work ok when it rains etc. The car is garaged so no dew. Cats walk on it though at night! Dealer not sure as the softare is in the screen.
It is not drastic but more out of interest has anyone got thoughts on what we need to look at?

Thanks Razz

there is no software in the screen!
Any contamination over the sensor will cause a 'wipe', selecting reverse whilst the front screen is being wiped will cause the rear wiper to activate also.
Try looking at the screen in the mornings before you start up to try and determine the cause....

Thanks for the tip TFC
I will closely examine the screen in the morning. I suppose the cat's footprints (light dust) could do it?

yep, or a fall of dust from the roofspace above your D3, the angle and type of lighting will also affect the sensitivity as the rain sensor works by detecting refraction of light
