Auto Wipers

Anyone had this ? I am now experiencing with wipers on 'Auto' that they work fine for a while and then go onto 'fast wipe' even if its not raining anymore ! The only way to rectify this is to switch them off and on again when alls well for a little while. Have also turned them onto normal wipe from this condition to find that they have a very irregular 'intermittent wipe' Rolling Eyes And to finish the rear wiper when this is all going on joins in with constant wipe Big Cry

There is no 'normal' intermittent wipe setting if you have auto wipers Paul Confused

When the auto wipers are 'performing' by selecting constant normal wipe ( ie 1 click up from auto ) they wipe for a while and then start stopping at the park position for variable amounts of time, Then they might do several more constant wipes before stopping again at there worst they operate like ' intermittent'

Tried that several times. Once they go onto fast wipe the only way to stop is to switch off or onto slow wipe which then starts the other feature

oh.............ummmmm

obviously I was lucky then......is the sensor area squeaky clean, maybe it is a bit oily or something and eventually smears itself up?????

Any chips, scratches or marks on the screen in front of mirror where the sensor is?

Judging by your avatar, you've lost your screen altogether. Maybe this is causing a problem Shocked

Disconnect fuse 18 this will turn them into normal wipers disabling the rain sensor function totally. it will however also disable auto lights as they use the same sensor.

A huge bumble bee hit my (wipers) sensor at 60mph in France. Shocked

The SPLAT turned on the wipers, which then smeared it all over the screen before I twigged to cancel. Embarassed
2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods
