Auto Transmission vibration |
|
Have had my auto trans oil changed a little while ago (bout 3000k) after getting a vibration on acceleration. Car has done about 110000ks. Oil was changed and the vibration went. But now it is back but not as bad. Mostly happens in what I think are 2nd or 3rd gear in auto mode.. Seems not to do it in command shift (manual). Should I have had it flushed or double flushed? 2.7 D4 eDiff, Traxide Dual battery, Safari Snorkel...Opposite Lock winch bar..extra set 17" wheels with 245/70/17 BFG KM2 MTs..Warrior winch..Long range tank.

By the way what do you mean by double flush? The transmission oil is quite expensive here. Do you literally flush the transmission twice without running the car and then change the filter pan? 2.7 D4 eDiff, Traxide Dual battery, Safari Snorkel...Opposite Lock winch bar..extra set 17" wheels with 245/70/17 BFG KM2 MTs..Warrior winch..Long range tank.

I'm having EXACTLY the same problems as you are
I had a double flush with a filter pan a year ago because I was getting a juddering from the auto gearbox at around 30 mph , 3rd gear , and this cured it for 10,000 miles but now it's back
I recently had a full service , MOT , and explained the fault with the auto box at the same time , mainly worse whilst towing but can get it to judder when taking up the drive from neutral at junctions and also once it changes up to 3rd gear at around 30mph , any other time it's fine.
The Dealer said it was down to the n/s/r tyre tread distorted on the edge but didn't try another wheel to eliminate the fault
I have changed the tyre on the n/s/r and fault still there.
The double flush was carried out during the end of it's 3 year warranty and the dealer has told me the work done doesn't get a warranty because it's now out of the manufacturer warranty
I have the select warranty which is has got 2 weeks left but the dealer is saying the gearbox oil is clean and a double flush won't cure the problem.

So they're saying that their new fluid isn't warranted for 12 months, even though the manufacturer says it's supposed to last for life? Sounds like the start of a 'conversation' Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

Hi All,
Been watching this problem for some time as I had the same problem.
Told the dealer about it many months ago but he could not replicate it in the work shop....hmmm
Gradually got worse and I finally found a way to load the tranny to a point where it shuddered goining into 2nd. This was really obvious when towing my van but mannaged to replicate it by riding the brakes. They contacted LR UK and got the response back to swap the box out under warranty.
All is well now and has been for about 10,000kms.

Glad you got a RESULT
Dealers still can't find my Transmission judder , even though I had a problem under warranty and a double flush seemed to cure it for about 8000 miles , LRCC say its not covered now but need to speak to my Select warranty but even that has expired over the last week. Im not happy as i'm convinced it's a gearbox fault as pretty much everything else has been checked
