SWMBO is getting an "Auto Release Failled" message and the EPB won't come off. It can be released manually by pushing thr switch down. She has tried the reset thing by holding switch down when she turns the ignition on, but it doesn't cure the fault.
I have searched the forum but I can't any reference to this type of fault.
Has anyone had this message? Is it indicative of an impending failure?Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

Have a look in the manual so u know how to release the stuck on EPB just in case & get it booked into the dealer to get sorted (assuming under warranty, can't see on iPod) would be my advice.
She's phoned LRA and they're on thier way
I expected them to tell her to bu99er off because the car was mobile.Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

sounds like the clutch position sensor if it'll release by pushing down on the switch
Is the thing in danger of jamming on?Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

nope, if it's just not auto-releasing it's not an EPB 'fault' as such just a missing sensor input, the EPB takes signals from engine, brake pedal, clutch pedal and gearbox before entering DAR pre-arm, if any of these are missing or unviable then DAR is not allowed
Apparently the gear box had ceased communicating with the clutch
Software reloaded and everything seems hunky dorey now.Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

Jeez! It's bad enough when SWMBO's not talking to her sister, or the kids have a falling out.! Now I have to worry about my gearbox not talking to my clutch.
No! - I'm OK - I bought an auto!! 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

Excellent job by LRA - turned up just over an hour after the initial call. Car fixed in about 20 mins.
He was driving a FFRR too.Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

Our local LRA guy does the Aston Martin Assistance too.
As opposed to Audi who now use the RAC, apparently 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

This can happen during a 'fast start' - key in, engine cranking whilst clutch pedal is moving and gear being selected... doesn't allow the various systems to initiate comms properly

So we should wait for Windows to start up properly before trying to start the engine? Roel
