Auto Rear Window Wiper

Why does my rear wiper seem to work when in the off position? I seems to do a random wipe which seems to be cancelled if I quickly switch it on then off again, Is this a feature of the auto front wipers?

As far as I know it should only wipe if you select reverse when auto wipers are selected at the front. Displaced Yorkshireman.

SDV6 Auto obviously, Loire blue/Ebony, ugly kid glass, RLD wheel protector, private plate and maybe side steps.

I am def going forward when they do it, every time they do it I instinctly chek the stalk and it is pushed forward in the off position, however the front ones are still on auto. I have only noticed them operating in either wet or damp conditions, so they are not doing it in the dry! If its a fault then its very picky! Smile

what is the thing they do when at motorway speed? ISTR something like over a certain speed wiper do something automatically? might be that. maybe the lesser frazzled brain types on here will recall! XC90 T8 R Design Pro

Mine dose the same every now and than its give a wipe if I have auto wipes on!

Noticed mine do the random wipes with fronts on auto on motorway, annoying as the back was dry
